Made in America Panel Urges the American People to Truly Understand the Damage that Obamacare will have on Seniors

Neal Asbury began his nationally syndicated “Neal Asbury’s Made in America” show on Radio America by relating that he had nightmares after interviewing Ed Klein, author of “The Amateur,” a New York Times bestseller that reveals that President Obama was heavily influenced by Marxist ideology since he was a small boy, and that this ideology continues to shape his presidency, including a profound distaste for entrepreneurs.

“Entrepreneurs are the nation’s job creators, but when you have a president that embraces socialism, you’re talking about the ultimate destroyer of jobs,” said Asbury.

Joining the show as a return guest was Republican Congressman Andy Harris, who represents Maryland’s first district and is also an M.D.

“Every American needs to know that Medicare will be bankrupt by the end of the decade if we continue on our present course.  The President has looted Medicare of $716 billion and now seniors are starting to see that they have limited access to physicians who don’t want to accept Medicare because they are not making enough money on reimbursements.  Meanwhile, the President is scaring seniors by bald-faced declarations that they will be losing Medicare if he isn’t reelected,” said Dr. Harris.

Dr. Harris noted that the Ryan Plan promotes competition by using the private  sector for health insurance.  Seniors will get the same benefits as government sector employees, and will have access to a wide range of options.

Dr. Harris added that the Ryan Plan will give seniors more access to physicians at affordable prices. If we continue on our present path, Dr. Harris warned that seniors  will find themselves waiting a long time to see a specialist.

“Seniors are already starting to experience reduced access. Meanwhile, President Obama is saying everything’s fine with Medicare, but seniors know better,” concluded Dr. Harris.

Made in America’s next guest was return guest Ray Paulson president and CEO of Paulson Manufacturing in Temecula, California. Since 1947 the company has been providing protective equipment for various industries worldwide.
“The U.S. market is our primary market because it is the right size for our products, and we can comfortably do business here.  But that’s not the case overseas, where we experience barriers and it’s hard to find dependable partners. Our policy is to meet one-on-one with three potential partners at their home location.  They need to live and work there, have the capital, and are already engaged in manufacturing,” said Paulson.

Paulson noted that while he has to jump through a lot of hoops, he recently closed a $750,000 deal with an Indian partner.

Joining the show was first time guest Tom Cotton who is running for Congress as a Republican in Arkansas, hoping to turn the entire Arkansas state government Republican. After graduating from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, he was motivated to join the military after 9-11, and spent five years on active duty in Baghdad as a platoon leader with the 101st Airborne.

“Be wary when politicians start talking about creating jobs.  The government doesn’t create jobs – entrepreneurs do.  But they can’t unless the government can simplify the tax codes, lift regulations, promote free trade, and reduce the deficit,” said Cotton.

He blamed out-of-control government agencies, like the EPA, with passing laws that stifle growth, like the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts that have served their purpose and are now being abused by the EPA to punish businesses.  He wants to see regulatory agencies make regulations more specific.

“America can actually become an energy exporter if we are allowed to tap into new technologies for coal, gas and oil.  In fact, the U.S. leads the world in fossil fuels. Yet, Obama looks at them as a liability that must be over-taxed and over-regulated,’ said Cotton.

“Made in America’s” final guest was Ilya Katz, a Russian emigrant and the author of the satirical book “Obamasutra,” who is running as an Independent for Congress in Florida.

Katz, who reminisced about being “a slave under the tower of socialism,” now celebrates living under the tower of freedom in the U.S. and its embrace of exceptionalism. He is trying to unseat Florida’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“Obama talks about the fact that we’re all together, and we can’t do this alone.  This is like socialism’s Marxist approach that relies totally on the government, which kills employment and entrepreneurship,” said Katz.

Once again, Asbury and co-host Dr. Rich Roffman introduced their weekly “Cronyism Report,” an ongoing look at how federal funding payouts are wasting taxpayer dollars.

Dr. Roffman noted that while GM is losing billions of dollars, and is losing money on every car it manufactures, has outsourced jobs, and created an R&D center in China, GM has found $559 million to put its logo on the uniforms of the Manchester United soccer team.

“There’s this guy, Herbert M. Allison Jr., who studied the Department of Energy’s expenditures, found that they only lost $3 billion in loans but could have lost $10 billion that it had in their budget. Aren’t we lucky?”  asked Dr. Roffman, tongue in cheek. Further, Mr. Allison reported that President Obama and the administration should have no blame for the loss of many billions of dollars. In effect, the losses were just the cost of doing business…and it could have been worse!  Amazing.

Each week Neal Asbury’s Made in America provides Neal’s insights into the week’s top news stories and their impact on the worlds of entrepreneurship, small business ownership and the overall economy. Neal’s analysis, together with co-host Dr. Richard Roffman, a veteran 30-year publisher with extensive domestic and international experience, takes a non-biased approach based on real life experience in business as an American manufacturer and exporter. Made in America airs nationally each Saturday from 7-8:00 PM on Radio America.  Link to Made in America at http://www.nealasburysmadeinamerica.com.
